I couldn’t wait to photograph Shannon Fisher and her lovely Quarter Horses! As I pulled up to Alan Fisher Performance Horses I was immediately impressed with the setup. There was a huge arena, different barns, and friendly staff greeting you as you walked up.
Shannon walked up and introduced herself and she looked SO cute!
She styled her outfit perfectly with a gorgeous flowy white top, jeans, bright red cowboy boots, and of course her Halt and Rein jewelry.
Shannon owns Halt and Rein and designs all the jewelry herself. Her pieces have been featured all over, from talk shows to celebrities wearing the fab pieces. They are seriously stunning, be sure to go check them out!
Shannon and her husband Alan own Alan Fisher Performance Horses, who specialize in AQHA western pleasure events. They boast several titles ranging from AQHA, APHA, PtHA, and NSBA titles.
We walked into the barn and I was introduced to “Twiggy” (aka “She Dresses to Win”). Twiggy was a massive red quarter horse that commanded your attention.
Twiggy is still pretty young, but she was so well behaved the entire session. She patiently went where ever Shannon put her and stood there until told to move again. She made my job so easy!
Shannon and I talked about how she previously had shown in the APHA circuits but her passion really lies with the Quarter Horses.
Shannon and Alan are constantly traveling to horse shows and kick butt where ever they go.
Isn’t her Harris Saddle absolutely stunning?! I about died when I saw it!
Hanging out with Shannon was so easy. She was fun, bubbly, and so very sweet!
Shannon and I talked about the show circuits, all the shows they had coming up, and all the ins and outs of running a successful show barn.
She said it was totally exhausting, and it a lot of work running a barn that big, but with a smile she said it was all worth it and she loves what they do.
What impressed me the most about Shannon was although she was extremely accomplished in the show arena, she wasn’t overly boastful. She was humble and kind, and chalked up her wins as the result of really hard work.
Aren’t Shannon and Twiggy seriously the most gorgeous pair you have ever seen?! They are perfect for each other! <3
Shannon and I also talked in depth about the mystery of Athena and where she came from. Shannon was so supportive of my big dreams to get my rescue mare to a world show, and she offered me so many tips to help figure out who she is to see if she was registered somewhere.
Shannon was so sweet to offer to help make phone calls to see what could be done about getting Athena registered. She never once treated me like we couldn’t do it. Instead like the true industry leader she is, she supported us and encouraged us to get into the show arena.
Not to mention, Shannon drove out to Athena’s first show and supported us during our classes! She is SUCH a sweet, truly supportive friend!
When you first see Shannon, it can be a little intimidating. She is successful, drop dead gorgeous, and super fashionable. But Shannon has got to be one of the friendliest and kindest equestrians I know!
Shannon loves Twiggy with her whole heart, but she also shares it with her minis! She has a few and just absolutely adores them. They are pretty darn cute!
Shannon is an accomplished equestrian who is passionate about growing the equine industry. It is great to watch her look at the horses with so much love and dedication. We definitely need more equine professionals like Shannon!
