I was so excited to photograph Rachel and Annie at Willoughby Stabes in Monroe, NC. Wakefield, barn name Annie, is a Hanoverian mare who is absolutely stunning.

Rachel and Annie are the perfect pair. They have been a team for over 8 years and have accomplished so much in such a short amount of time.

They ride hunters and equitation and swept the shows they attended. Talk about an amazing team!

Some of their accomplishments include winning the SCHJA Governor Cup Finals, and in 2015 the American Hanoverian Society Adult Amateur Hunter. Check out all those coolers!

Rachel has so much love for Annie. Annie has recently been injured and Rachel has been on a war path to get her better.

Unfortunately her injury is permanent, so Rachel is dedicated to giving Annie and happy and loving retirement. This session was done to celebrate Annie and their accomplishments as a team.

Rachel describes Annie as bubbly and sophisticated, which I can testify to!

Annie carries herself like a champion, but has such a sweet and kind eye.

Rachel’s favorite feature about Annie is her face because she always so happy and youthful.

They both were so cool and collected the entire shoot. They were totally in tuned with each other!

I would have loved to watch them soar over fences together. I bet they were amazing!

Rachel told me how she had done most of the training herself. We talked in depth about how training our own horse was so rewarding, and how we grew as horsemen because of it.

We all know those people were their horses are injured, or just can’t make the cut and the people dump their horses. Rachel is the opposite.

She is so devoted to Annie, giving her happiness and comfort as she lives her days in retirement. She is such an example to us all!

Annie is such a stunner, I love all of the little details that make her unique!

These two are such a perfect, beautiful pair and although they are both devastated about Annie’s injuries, their love for each other shines through.
